Let’s chat about the best beauty collaborations that have already populated every glam store around the world, as well as about the ones we cannot wait to finally drop.
Isamaya Ffrench and Tom Ford
Recently one of the most original modern makeup artists, Isamaya Ffrench, released her first collaboration with Tom Ford. Do you remember that time when Tom devoted one of his lipsticks to her? The ‘Extrême’ collection includes 20 shades of shadows and four types of mascara. The colours of the eyeshadows are complex – from lavender to light-lemon. They are sparkling and look like liquid metal. Mascara is presented in blue, eggplant, turquoise and copper colours.
NARS x Erdem
After a successful collaboration with H&M, the founder-designer Erdem Morialoglu decided to conquer the beauty market. Erdem has been working with NARS for several fashion weeks and it seems that now is just a perfect time for a proper collaboration. The main theme of the collection is flowers: they decorate the packaging and the shades are named after them. The line includes 13 products for eye, lip and cheek make up. Erdem x NARS are also releasing something completely new – a palette of lip pigments, Lip Powder Palette, and matting napkins, Mattifying Blotting Paper. There are lemon and blue hues, and among the lipsticks, you can find a rich ink colour.
Jeremy Scott and M.A.C.
At the beginning of the year Jeremy Scott and M.A.C. announced that they are preparing a collaboration, and in February, the presentation of the new makeup collection took place in New York. The designer was inspired by 80s pop music, so special attention was paid to packaging and colours – they are bright, almost flashy. What else could we expect from Jeremy Scott? Packaging is outrageous – palette boxes are in the form of tape recorders, cassettes and CD-disks. One huge palette-boombox, for example, contains 29 shades of shadows.
Yazbukey and Shu Uemura
The famous Japanese brand Shu Uemura produced a limited collection of lip makeup products together with designer Yazbukey. This is not her first collaboration with the brand. This time the collection will include 16 shades of classic cream lipsticks and the most interesting part of the collaboration – liquid metal-colour lip liners, one of the trends of the coming autumn.
Patrick Starrr and M.A.C.
The second joint collection for M.A.C. this year is with the famous beauty blogger Patrick Starrr. The main features of the collection are eyeshadows in bright blue, lilac, purple and pink shades. You may also like lipsticks in – oh so hot! – nude shades and shimmer lip glosses.
Too Faced Cosmetics x Kat Von D Beauty
It’s not the first time that two powerful and absolutely different beauty brands unite to create a joint collection. Previously they released pallets in the form of a heart split in half: on the one hand (pink) were the products produced by Too Faced, and on the other (black) – by Kat Von D. What two brands are preparing next and when would this be released is yet unknown.
Mario Dedivanovic x KKW Beauty
Last June Kim Kardashian launched her own brand of decorative cosmetics. And more than half a year ago Kim began to promote the release of the joint collection with her personal make-up artist Mario Dedivanovic. By the way, he is responsible for the creation of Kim’s cult beauty image, and it was with him that Kim worked on her make-up tutorials. The collaboration includes a palette of 10 saturated shades of eyeshadows, not at all in Kim’s style, and a few lipsticks. The collection was launched in the early April in the US and was completely sold out in the first 40 minutes. Wow! We are waiting for batch #2!
