London is in a wild but organised rush in order to get everything planned and everyone prepared for this Fashion Week which starts today and will be taking place until the 19th of September. SS18 collections will be celebrated and paraded with the help of hair stylists, glam teams, models and of course most importantly, designers. Nerves are brewing under the surface as they get ready to showcase their most polished looks not only on the catwalks but during presentations and afterparties. Photographers, writers and editors all battle for their seats to watch fashion history take place in Britain’s most popular city. So, what’s to expect?
Names such as Burberry, Vivienne Westwood, Christopher Kane, McQueen Topshop and Erdem among many other famous designers are getting set to shine as they launch their new lines and pieces. Months of hard work is being concentrated into 5 days. 90 different shows, talks and presentations will be demonstrated to the most experienced audience worldwide. For the first time Ralph and Russo are joining the London Fashion Week designers at 8:30pm on 15th September and an even earlier show will be duo Fyodor Golan showing their new collection at 1pm.
Rumoured designers most likely to shine include Tommy Hilfiger who will be jet setting straight from New York’s Fashion Week with his supermodel sidekick Gigi Hadid, showing off their latest collaboration over the pond for the first time. Not only will America be sending over their most talented but Milan will be sending over Giorgio Armani before it’s very own Fashion Week at the end of the month.
One of the highlights of the week (well, for us… the season) will be the pieces able to purchase freshly after the show, what’s not to love?! Our very own, high-street favourite Topshop and higher end Mother of pearl and Burberry will have some of their collection available to buy similar to AW17 London Fashion Week. Ready-to-wear items are one of the most popular aspects of the event with shopping opportunities being available all week.
And the most highly-anticipated question… how big will the parties be?!
Journalist Katie Grand from LOVE magazine is setting up her biggest party of the year as we speak, while high-street COS is celebrating 10 years of business with a bang in London. British Vogue staff are well known for their partying during Fashion Week, we wonder what other a-listers or familiar faces will be enjoying the celebrations…
