Styles by name, style by nature – since stepping out of the One Direction spotlight, Harry Styles has made his own legacy; not only as a trend-setting solo musician but a fashion icon for the modern man. In lieu of the singer’s forthcoming sophomore album, Fine Line out December 13th, we look back on every iconic fashion moment from Mr. Watermelon Sugar.
Styles’ sartorial choices have come a long way since his humble X-Factor days, but we cannot deny the power this skinny scarf combo had on us back in 2010.
Another young Harry moment that Directioners are very familiar with – the legendary Jack Willis hoodie.
While on tour with One Direction, Harry teamed a white t-shirt and beige trousers with a preppy jacket to complete the look.
Wrapped up in a hoodie and beanie for a stroll round Central Park, millions of hearts broke the world over when Styles was pictured holding hands with pop princess Taylor Swift.
For the premiere of This is Us in 2013, we see a more eclectic print-loving Styles emerge onto the scene.
We’ll never forget when Harry gave us this look at Burberry’s AW14 fashion show. This was the exact moment we knew we had a budding fashion icon in our midst (and, notably the starting point of his love for leopard print).
Two years on, Harry grew out his hair and was a blossoming young Mick Jagger lookalike with his bold choice of tailoring. Here he is wearing, you guessed it, Gucci during London Fashion Week.
The love affair with Gucci continues in this romantic floral print two-piece suit that the singer wore to the 2015 American Music Awards.
After appearing alongside his 1D members on America’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, Styles was seen sporting a Tom Ford bag with a Saint Laurent shirt.
Upon the release of his self-titled debut record in 2017, Harry’s style was better than ever before. To promote the album, the singer performed in New York City in probably one of his most unforgettable looks, an all-pink Gucci suit.
Accompanied by Gucci Creative Director Alessandro Michele at 2019’s Met Gala, Harry pulled off a gender-bending black see-through number that had all our jaws on the floor.
Snapped by photography legend Tim Walker for the cover of his second album Fine Line, Styles wore custom made Gucci – obviously.
And finally, for his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live, Styles performed his latest single and appropriately matched the song title (Watermelon Sugar) to his outfit in a statement red suit punctuated with a black tie.
