Fashion Flashback: Jennifer Lopez

Jennifer Lopez has been ruling the fashion game for over two decades. With an enviable list of professions, we seriously need to take some styling tips from this multi-talented 49 year-old super woman. To celebrate her engagement to baseball player Alex Rodriguez, we’ve decided to take a look back at her best fashion moments.

Lopez channelled serious rodeo vibes for her first ever VMAs sporting a co-ordinating cream blazer, trousers and bralette. At this year’s Grammys, a similar cowboy hat reappeared as she paid homage to herself.

Pictured at the premier for ‘The Thomas Crown Affair’, we hope that J-Lo still has this sweet beaded slip dress at the back of her wardrobe as the 90s are totally on-trend right now.

Would this even be a J-Lo style file without this iconic Versace gown?! Worn to the Grammys in the year 2000, so many people wanted to see a photograph of it that it lead to the creation of Google Images itself – now that’s some star power.

At the 2004 premier of her film “Shall We Dance?”, JLo wore an opulent Bollywood inspired dress.

At the 2006 VMAs, Lopez went super sixties on us in a outfit by iconic retro label Biba.

The 2010 Academy Awards was J-Lo’s Cinderella moment as she took to the red carpet in a dreamy white sequin couture gown fit for a queen.

The theme was “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” for the 2010 Met Gala, and Lopez wore an exquisite Zuhair Murad gown. It featured a meticulously embroidered bodice and skirt that embodied the beauty of a swan. The attention to detail here is stunning.

At the 2011 Grammys J-Lo looked incredible in a short bedazzled Pucci dress. Accessorised with matching Laboutins, she lit up the red carpet.

The only thing more beautiful than a twinkling night sky is Jennifer Lopez in a Valentino midnight blue gown. Her 2013 Tony Award look was wonderfully elegant with a simple silhouette, but the embellished gold stars added that touch of J-Lo that we know and love.

For the 2014 Vanity Fair Oscar Party, Lopez took inspiration from the golden award itself. Dripping in decadent rhinestones, this 1920’s style gown is quintessential Lopez glamour.

We’ve never seen anyone look as good in mustard as Jennifer did at the 2016 Golden Globes. Paired with silver accessories and a timeless red lip, this delicate chiffon gown had a gorgeous train and Red Riding Hood style cape.

For the 2018 VMAs, Lopez opted for a slinky metallic Versace dress that resembled a shiny, sexy chainmail armour.

Wearing another ultra-glam silver number, here she is beaming with her fiancee at the 2019 Oscars.

Best of luck to the newly-engaged couple!
