ANGEL CHEN have M.A.C Cosmetics have joined forces to produce an innovative and striking make-up collection. The line blends the designer’s enthusiasm for bright colours and traditional Chinese cultural influences to form a fresh addition to the make-up company.
The Chinese designer label which has a colourful eye for fashion and fuses Eastern and Western aesthetics. Now based in Shanghai, the designer is one of the country’s biggest and brightest talents. The brand now boasts stockists and exclusive collaborations with names such as Selfridges, Urban Outfitters, Brown’s, H. Lorenzo and Lane Crawford. ANGEL CHEN has recently participated in Milan Fashion Week attending and showcasing busy and popular events.
In this release, the Chinese designer brings red makeup inspired from the ancient music house “Mulan poem”, which refers to women’s makeup. Each capsule series product brings vitality and agility when used, every woman can become a “goddess”. The designer’s influences are bold and vibrant while consistent and strong. The rest of the range includes bright yellows and blues in powder form. The packaging also displays strong saturated colours mirroring CHEN’s catwalk designs.
The complete collection’s colours are mainly red, showcasing the unique charm of the traditional Chinese shade with the combination of a multi-dimensional display to combine with M.A.C’s strong aesthetic to their mass market.
CHEN’s bold and abstract designs demonstrate consistency with the avant-garde character of the M.A.C Cosmetics branding. Known for their unique looks on the catwalk, the designer shows off effective make-up looks recently from Milan Fashion Week. The Chinese charm threads throughout the collection which also has a modern twist on the traditional Chinese Dragon culture.
