Beauty addicts have taken to Instagram to share their obsessions over the galaxy-inspired makeup look as the beauty trend returns, so we found out just how to nail the look. The Aurora Borealis, or The Northern Lights, are an ethereal display of coloured lights shimmering across the night sky. If this isn’t enough to stimulate a makeup trend that what possibly could be?
The Northern Lights, have made an impact in the beauty world ever since cruelty-free and vegan brand GOSH have announced they will be launching their very own Northern-lights collection, which will include multi-use strobing pencils, holographic eyeshadows and chromatic highlighting powders in a range of shades.
Beauty addicts from across the globe have expressed their excitement – sharing their creations on social media. At the end of April beauty influencer Aysun Yeter gave her followers a sneak peak of the GOSH collection on her Instagram, and viewers were dying to know more. Her story featured swatches of the shades on her arm to give her viewers a glimpse of the highly pigmented products within this new collection.
So of course, we are all itching to discover what must-have products are essential for this look…
GOSH have released strobing pencils, in shades Strobelight Pink, Strobelight Lilac, and Strobecream Cream which are for multi-purpose use on lids, cheekbones and collar bones, as well as the Chromatic Highlighter Palette which consists of shimmery holographic tones that can be dusted wherever shimmer and shine is desired.
Makeup artist Charli JvR (@charlixboi) spoke about his top tips and how to achieve this trend.
He said: “Apply a couple of drops of liquid highlighter on the high points of the face with a damp beauty sponge first, before setting with powder. Then, layer the pressed highlighter from the Northern Lights range on top with a fan brush – this will give the skin a natural dewy finish and an extra pop.”
But of course, we can’t pay all our appreciation for this glorious trend to GOSH cosmetics, beauty brands have been launching Northern Light inspired products since 2014 – Cargo Cosmetics ‘Northern Lights’ palette, Revolution ‘strobe lights’ highlighter, and Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Aurora Glow Kit’.
