Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are showing in Paris this season, rather than their usual New York spot. Just as Givenchy makes the opposite move, the sisters – who have been celebrated in the US with several CFDA Awards for both their accessories and their ready-to-wear offerings – will be heading to the city of love.
Ten days before the start of the new season’s fashion weeks Olsen sisters have canceled their show in New York. Their show will now take place in Paris and, therefore, not only in another country, but also a month later. Maybe sisters just did not manage to finish the collection?
Big Apple’s residents were faced with an unexpected occasion for sadness: the Olsen twins who are guiding one of the main modern New-York-based brands are running from the city to Paris. A few days before the show The Row which was to be held in the framework of NYFW announced that it has transferred its show to the capital of fashion – Paris. However, this is not the first time for Olsens to do so. Earlier during the spring-summer 2011 fashion season they also canceled the show in New York and moved it to Paris. Then the reason for escaping from America has been a banal delay in the production of samples – all for technical reasons. But the time, place and any other general details of the Paris show and presentation of the Row collection are still unknown.
Another important event has happened recently at the Row office. Last week they announced that their second brand Elizabeth and James joins The Row and officially becomes the second line of the luxury brand. The first collection to celebrate the new role would be a pre-fall / fall 2016 collection.
