Looking at the front row from New York and London fashion weeks, it was hard not to notice that the first row of our favourite shows is filled with some bright characters from South Korea. Here are our favourite fashionistas that we spotted.
Jisoo, Jennie, Lisa, and Rosé from Blackpink
Female pop band rarely performs live, but is definitely in the forefront of fashion. Lisa is a record holder in the number of Instagram subscribers (14.8 million) among female idols, Hedi Slimane’s muse and the embodiment of the aesthetics of the new Celine. The band also has a Chanel fan Jennie who participated in the Spring/Summer show 2019 of the fashion house. We saw the other participants of the girl band, Rosé and Jisoo at the Coach show, Tod’s, Alexander McQueen and Mulberry.

Kwon Jin Yong, better known under the pseudonym of G-Dragon, is the leader of the Bigbang band. He is now always on the FROW at the Chanel show as in 2017 he officially became the ambassador for the fashion house. The musician embodies the South Korea culture: he is extravagant, extraordinary, and eccentric. G-Dragon is also one of Jeremy Scott’s favourites, he collaborates with Giuseppe Zanotti, Raf Simons and Vetements. He describes his attitude to fashion as follows:
“There are no wrong answers in fashion.”
Kai and Sehun (EXO)
Another South Korea star that was spotted on the FROW at Gucci is Kai from EXO. Eyewitnesses will confirm that his appearance before the beginning of the Gucci show in Paris caused loud compliments and enthusiastic sighs – the guests were desperate to get closer to him. According to EXO legend, each member of the band has supernormal abilities that keep harmony in the universe. It is believed that Kai – one of the best Korean dancers – can move objects with the power of thought. And his group partner, Sehun, apparently ‘controls’ the power of the wind. In addition to this, they are both on the list of best-dressed on Vogue.
