Trends of the month: June

Backstage Tales continues our series presenting you the hottest trends of the month. This time we, once again, put together three looks for different moods and situations and are ready to tell you the story of each piece.

Look_1: La Vie en Rose

How much pink is too much? According to the Spring/Summer ’17 reports by the leading trend forecasting agency WGSN, this season you can never get enough of this colour. Dusty, champagne, piggy, peach, bright Barbie pink – whichever shade you choose, we are with you! We just couldn’t resist when we saw these Gucci’s L’Aveugle Par Amour sunglasses made from ivory enamel to an oversized round-frame silhouette. The French phrase translates to ‘Blind For Love’ and is engraved in red to echo the tinted lenses. June is a perfect month to wear these and look at the world through rose-tinted glasses. Combine them with this simple work-to-weekend blouse by TopShop styled with a deep V-neckline, J.Crew cross-shoulder bag with an adjustable strap and Mansur Gavriel’s loafers that are made from rich pink suede and lined in soft leather. This wear-with-everything pair by an Italian designer has a timeless penny-style silhouette and slight stacked heel. Minimalistic necklace by BP with a simple rectangular pendant and Burberry Beauty Nail Polish No. 100 in nude beige would add a little shine to this look.

Look_2: Beauty & the hypebeast

Hypebeasts, we see you. Whether you are a sneakerhead, brand-loyal or brand-addicted, we know that wherever you go, you’re obsessed with being the best-dressed person for miles. This Opening Ceremony crop t-shirt from their Spring/Summer ’17 collection (yes, we know that you want the latest collection available) was inspired by the New York street style. It might have even been inspired by you! Wear yours with the classic Vans Old Skool sneakers with the signature curved stripes and suede trim that relaxes your everyday look. You don’t wanna seem over-prepared 😉 Work it all with RE/DONE clean cut off shorts and classic Ray-Ban 50mm gold/green sunglasses. Pigment-rich with intense color payoff and a no-shine, matte finish this M.A.C Antique Velvet lipstick would be just a perfect finish to your look making everyone turn their heads wherever you go.

Look_3: Festival breeze

Of course, we love summer for the sunshine. Whether it’s being outside, running around, swimming in the sea, the ability to wear less layers… But let’s confess, our favourite things about it are the music festivals. And now you won’t even have to think about what to wear to it as we have found just the right items! This light Pitusa pom pom festival dress would be just perfect for sunny days in the festival fields. When creating its beautifully crafted, transnational, high quality garments dedicated to comfort, coziness and color the brand draws inspiration from all over the world to create original, bright and fun pieces. What is also amazing about this brand is that the clothing is produced in Peru and the USA, and always in accordance with fair working conditions. Combine it with Sam Edelman beige Demi sandals with silver stud embellishments, timeless round Aviator Sunglasses by Madewell with cool mirrored lenses and Shashi Camilla Drop earrings to add a splash of colour to this cute look. Going to a festival makeup free? Hmm, nah, you need at least just a little bit. A palette of 15 exquisite shades of long-wearing, highly pigmented powdered eyeshadow Neutral Times by M.A.C applies evenly, blends and builds beautifully-so you’ll be gorgeous in any hue. With Hourglass Women’s Ambient lighting blush you will discover a new way to blush: this groundbreaking hybrid combines the customised lighting effects of Ambient Lighting Powder with a spectrum of breathtakingly modern hues to result in a seamless, soft-focus and multidimensional color. Grab your M.A.C Work It Out Bi-ceptual lipstick and off you go! Enjoy the sunshine!
